The bezel pearl of a Rolex Submariner Ref. 5512 had been lost, and a replacement was requested with the aim of preserving the original character of the watch.

Dimensions are taken from a new old stock example and used as a reference throughout the process, with the aim of approaching the original form as closely as possible.

The pearl is fabricated from an acrylic rod.

The upper profile is shaped and refined, followed by polishing.

A period-correct tritium compound is selected to harmonise with the tone of the dial lume.

This is placed within the pearl and sealed.

The completed pearl is then fitted to the bezel insert by friction and secured from the reverse with adhesive.

The work is thus completed.
